What Is This Site About? Who Is It For?

This site is about identifying and addressing the public service needs of a complex and evolving society. It points to the underlying importance of how individual and organizational civic responsibility, democratic engagement, cooperation, and argueably, a revisitation of the lost art of common courtesy plays in addressing these needs.

This page will periodically provide source information pertaining to socio-economic trends, local, regional and global profiles, demographics, culture, and specific case examples selected to challenge our assumptions of how to address the public’s business. It will also emphasize how a deeper intrinsic understanding of our democratic system of governance facilitates unity through compromise.

Mentoring, teaching, presentations, and writing, have become my way of contributing to this conversation. This is not a site geared towards the “Management Flavor of the Month” or the myriad of “Leadership Silver Bullets.” It is more about the “Why” of public service and not so much about the “What” and “How.”
