This site is about us. It is about our history and contemporary selfs. It is about the relationship between government and the governed and our own American brand of representative democracy. It highlights the need for adult discourse in the public square. It points to the underlying importance of how individual and organizational civic responsibility, democratic engagement, cooperation, and arguably, a revisitation of the lost art of common courtesy plays in addressing our complex contemporary needs. Meant more as footnotes to greater stories, this platform will include periodic highlights of my own journey. It will gravitate between the introspective and the retrospective. It may not stand up to the full rigors of academic scrutiny, but at least it will provide an additional voice in what I think are some interesting conversations. If nothing else, it may just be another source for clarifying our individual and collective understanding of our environment, our history, and our personal and professional places in time. Hopefully it won’t come across as just a speech about “Back in My Day” or just common knowledge chatter.
Enjoy and Stay Well

P.S.
Since my environmentalist roots have seemed to reemerge, there will be occasional postings on technology, the flora, the fauna, and my love of national parks. Yes I am, and always will be, a tree hugger.
